About Me

Kristy Bastone, LCMHC, NCC
Founder & Therapist

I'm Kristina, though most people call me Kristy. I've always been fascinated by understanding people—what drives us, what keeps us stuck, and what helps us grow. Curiosity has shaped every stage of my career, from serving as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy to becoming a therapist. Today, I bring that same curiosity into therapy, helping clients make sense of experiences that can feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to put into words.

I'm a lifelong learner. In addition to earning two master's degrees, I genuinely enjoy reading counseling and psychology books (no, really, I do!). I continue exploring new research and therapeutic approaches because I believe my clients deserve care that's thoughtful, flexible, and grounded in evidence. Rather than relying on a single method, I tailor therapy to each person's unique needs, strengths, and goals.

Outside of my professional roles, I'm a Navy veteran, mom, and martial arts student who understands that life doesn't always go according to plan. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that resilience isn't about never struggling—it's about learning to move forward and grow in ways that align with your values.

If you think we might be a good fit, I'd love to hear from you.

One of my favorite things about being a therapist is that no two people—and no two stories—are ever the same. Every client teaches me something new, and it is a privilege to walk alongside people as they navigate some of life's most meaningful and challenging moments.

🤝 Connection & Trust

  • Holding space with people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, offering support, hope, and a steady presence.

  • Creating a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest—even about the messy, uncomfortable parts of being human.

  • Watching someone's face light up when they realize they're stronger than they thought.

  • Helping people regain a sense of agency when life has become smaller than they want it to be.

💡 Curiosity & Understanding

  • Helping people make sense of experiences that once felt confusing or overwhelming.

  • Watching clients connect the dots between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships.

  • Translating complex psychological concepts into language that's practical, relatable, and easy to understand.

  • Celebrating those "aha!" moments when something finally clicks.

🌱 Lifelong Learning

  • Continuing to learn. I like to read about psychology, relationships, parenting, trauma, and human behavior. I love connecting ideas from different areas to create therapy that's tailored to each person rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • Learning from my clients. Every person brings unique experiences and perspectives, and I consider it a privilege to continue learning.

  • Working with a wide variety of people and concerns because every person's story is different.

🧩 Personalized Care

  • Tailoring therapy to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • Drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches to meet each person's unique needs.

  • Balancing compassion with practical strategies that clients can use in everyday life.

😊 Bringing Humanity Into the Chat

  • Using creativity, playfulness, and humor when it fits, because healing doesn't always have to be serious.
